JONESBORO, Ark. – A traffic stop turned into a foot chase resulting in the arrest of two individuals earlier this week in Jonesboro.
The incident unfolded between 1 PM and 2:15 PM on September 19 when the Street Crimes Unit observed a yellow pickup truck entering and exiting a known drug house within a span of two minutes. Investigators decided to stop the vehicle at the intersection of Gordon Street and N. Main Street after noticing that both occupants were not wearing seat belts.
Upon being stopped, both individuals fled in separate directions, prompting the response of multiple officers and the use of a K9 unit to assist in locating the suspects.
William A. Barber, 32, of Jonesboro, was the first to be apprehended. Barber has been booked into the Craighead County Detention Center on charges that include possession of methamphetamine and fleeing.
A short time later, officers found Terry Randell Hodges, 53, of Jonesboro, hiding among a pile of logs and leaves. Hodges was taken into custody on a parole violation and also held due to multiple felony warrants associated with his name.
