Jonesboro Police Department Investigates Felony Theft and Forgery at Interior Design Business

JONESBORO, Ark. – A case of felony theft and forgery has been reported to the Jonesboro Police Department, leaving a local interior design business out thousands of dollars.

The incident occurred between August 3 and August 21 at Interior Design Plus in Jonesboro. According to the police report, a suspect forged a check in the amount of $4,925.34 and subsequently withdrew the money from the business account.

The suspect, whose name has been masked in the report, is known to the police. She is described as a 21-year-old black female.

The crime is significant, constituting a class D felony for the theft, given that the value exceeds $1,000. This charge alone carries a maximum sentence of six years. However, the case is further complicated by the first-degree forgery, which is more severe as a class B felony and could result in up to 20 years in prison for the suspect.
