JONESBORO, Ark. – The Jonesboro Police Department (JPD) is actively investigating a series of burglaries at local jewelry stores that have occurred in rapid succession, and there’s growing suspicion that the incidents are connected.
The crime spree began at Pagan’s Jewelry on 624 Southwest Drive in Jonesboro around 4:45 AM on August 13. Per the report, perpetrators smashed a glass door to gain entry, making away with an unspecified amount of jewelry.
Shortly after this incident, another break-in was reported at Gotay’s Jewelry Gallery located at 2604 East Nettleton. In a similar modus operandi, the culprit or culprits shattered a glass door for access. As of now, the total value of the stolen jewelry from this location remains undetermined, possibly awaiting a complete inventory check.
A third attempt was made between 4:30 and 5:45 AM at Sissy’s Log Cabin on 2900 Parkwood in Jonesboro. While it remains unclear whether the suspects were successful in their endeavor, the pattern and timing raise further suspicions of a possible link between these incidents.
In a promising lead, the Paragould Police Department has apprehended an individual believed to be connected to the string of burglaries. JPD’s Public Information Officer, Sally Smith, confirmed to NEA Report that there is an active arrest warrant for the suspect in question.
NEA Report has reached out to authorities in Paragould for further details and will provide updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.
Residents and business owners are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
