
The Craighead County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two cases of theft involving thousands of dollars of stolen diesel fuel.
The incident report, released today, says the thefts took place near the 900-block of Craighead County Road 952. It was believed the thefts happened between June 9 and June 10.
One of the victims reported 1,600 gallons of diesel stolen. At $4.60 a gallon, that’s $7,360 in fuel stolen.
Nearby, 900 gallons of diesel were stolen from another farm. The second theft was estimated to be valued over $4,000.
The thefts could result in felony charges for the yet-to-be-identified suspect.
