A man reported his front windshield was busted by protesters while he was leaving Kroger on Sunday in Jonesboro. At about 6 PM on May 31, the report was filed. The man said he and his wife were leaving Kroger parking lot and he rolled his window down to watch the march. That’s when he said some people in the crowd began yelling curse words at his wife and him. He said someone yelled a racial statement and he responded by saying “boo.” That’s when he said he was blocked by members of the crowd, along with a Nissan passenger car. His windshield was broken in two pieces and his passenger side mirror was also broken. Other damage was caused before he made it out and called the police. Fingerprints were taken from the vehicle and logged into evidence.
Three suspected Molotov cocktails were found stashed after late Sunday at the 600-block of West Jefferson Avenue. A Molotov cocktail is a crude incendiary device usually consisting of a bottle filled with flammable liquid and a means of ignition.
Someone forged another’s signature on a $3,400 stimulus check and cashed it, a report filed Monday alleged.
A burglary was reported Monday at the 300-block of State Street in Jonesboro. It happened between 4 PM Sunday and Monday morning. Someone entered the window and stole various electronics and other items.
Between 6 PM Monday and 7 AM Tuesday, someone entered an unlocked vehicle – possibly at the 600-block of N. Caraway Road (The location was masked but the address of the victim was in the report). A pistol was stolen – a black Smith & Wesson 9 mm.
Reports released Monday, 6/1/2020
A commercial burglary was reported Friday morning at an insurance office located at the 200-block of Gee Street in Jonesboro. A hole was punched in a wall that was then used to open the door. Minor thefts occurred.
An occupant at a hotel is accused of stealing a television and damaging the room. A second television was destroyed. Wire cutters were found left behind. Police took the report at about 11 AM on Friday.
A 64-year-old nurse was arrested for lying to police (hindering apprehension) after they tried to serve a bench warrant Friday morning at the 1600-block of Crepe Myrtle Drive. Two others were arrested.
Someone knocked windows out of an SUV with a tire iron sometime between 12:45 PM and 2 PM Friday at 9701 East Highland Drive in Jonesboro, FMH Conveyors. Video of the incident was turned over to police to be reviewed.
Shortly after 4 PM Friday, a woman found a black gun magazine in the grass beside her house in the 4000-block of Timberlake Cove.
Between 10 and 11 PM Friday, a residential burglary was reported at the 4000-block of East Nettleton at an apartment. A felonious amount was stolen (over $1,000).
A shooting was reported Saturday morning at the 300-block of Chestnut Street in Jonesboro. Officers responded to the shots fired call at 12:31 AM. Police believe at least two people began firing several rounds at one another. Shell casings were found. The suspect vehicles were a silver Chrysler 300 and a gray Chevy Tahoe. No arrests were noted.
Of note, numerous traffic stops, arrests, and warrants were reported on out of town individuals.
Sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, a suspect entered a vehicle at the 200-block of East Washington and stole a firearm out of a backpack.
A fight broke out Saturday evening at the city pool on Nettleton in Jonesboro. Three suspects, all teens, were involved in a scuffle, resulting in minor injuries. The aggressors were gone by the time police arrived. EMS treated minor injuries at the scene.
A gun was found in a backyard at the 1900-block of Irby Street, a report filed Sunday afternoon said.
A white 2004 Ford F-250 Supercab was reported stolen Sunday around 2 PM at the 3100-block of Commerce Drive.
A woman called a local hospital early Monday morning and allegedly threatened to burn it down.
A commercial burglary was reported early Monday at the Dollar General at 3413 Dan Avenue.
This so called protest is starting to get out of hand and other people and their property are getting damaged.Police “JPD, CCSD,& ASP” need so stop being cowards and stop this before it gets worse.
In the police report it says that John Bosze was yelling racial slurs at the protesters looks like his windows were up to me anyone notice this?Why wasn’t the black guy that tried to attack his moving suv and damaged it arrested, maybe John has his family with him and he was trying to protect.It’s not against the law to carry a firearm and to show it unless your a felon.
