JONESBORO, Ark. – Jonesboro police want the public’s help finding several suspects who set a vehicle on fire at Cavenaugh Ford earlier this month and may have tried to rig several others to catch fire, too.

JFD responded to a vehicle fire on January 9 at Cavenaugh Ford Mercury on Highland Dr. They found a brand new vehicle on the lot fully involved in flames and worked to quickly extinguish it, a release said. Upon investigation, they found a soaked rag had been stuck in the gas tank. But they quickly found it wasn’t the only vehicle targeted.

They also found nine other vehicles on the lot whose gas tanks had been tampered with. Four of those still had lighter fluid-soaked rags hanging out.

The suspects and their vehicle were caught on Kroger security cameras and are pictured below. The vehicle appears to be a red or maroon late model PT Cruiser with two suspects. The incident happened around 8:30pm on Thursday, January 9.
