Jonesboro Mayor Harold announced that applications are being accepted for three new volunteer committees involving the City of Jonesboro.
The Jonesboro Public Safety Surveillance Equipment Committee will assist in raising public funds for safety surveillance equipment, including the Jonesboro Police Department’s SkyCops program. It will be composed of five to 20 members.
The Jonesboro Shooting Sports Complex Committee will assist in the development, promotions and fundraising for the shooting facilities, including contributions, grants, sponsorships and naming rights. It will comprise 10 to 20 members.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Trail Committee will plan the educational component of the Arkansas State University to Downtown Jonesboro trail, as well as assist in fundraising for trail markers that will feature King quotes. No number of members has been designated.
