JONESBORO, Ark. – A Marked Tree man with a no contact order on him from a local woman is alleged to have violated that order, broken into her home, and attacked her. Then he apparently took her prisoner and went to Walmart, the press release states, before she was able to get away.
Jonesboro Police arrested the Marked Tree man, 27 year old Byron Martin, around 4 a.m. Saturday morning at the Walmart located on Parker Road, a release said.
Officers arrived on scene and began talking to the victim who stated that the suspect broke into her residence and assaulted her. The suspect, with the victim, traveled to Walmart and there the victim was able to make contact with an employee who called the police on her behalf.
After interviewing Martin and the victim, police arrested Byron Martin for residential burglary, violation of a no contact order, false imprisonment and domestic battering. He is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center awaiting his probable cause hearing.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time, said a release from JPD.
