Resident shot by burglar in home invasion

JONESBORO, Ark. – A resident was shot during a burglary on Friday in Jonesboro.

On Friday, August 18, 2018 Officers with the Jonesboro Police Department were called to a home on Peter Trail with regards to a burglary in progress at approximately 12:30 am.

Once there they were told that they victims had been asleep and were awoken by a strange noise. The victim got out of bed to investigate the noise and was confronted by an unknown person in their home. Once confronted the unknown person pointed and fired a gun at the victim just before running away.

The resident was struck in the arm by the gunfire. The victim received trauma care from officers that had arrived on scene and his care was transferred to medical personnel that had arrived on scene a short time later. The victim was later transferred to a hospital in Memphis, TN for their care.

Detectives were called to the scene of the shooting where they gathered evidence.
At this time there has been no arrest made in this ongoing investigation.
