PARAGOULD, Ark. — A registered sex offender was arrested after investigators allegedly found several email and social media accounts he had not reported, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Michael Nelson Murawski, 45, reported an address change July 10 and told authorities he had one email address and no social media accounts. Murawski allegedly said he previously had social media accounts but could not remember the passwords.
Murawski is on felony probation and had signed a waiver allowing warrantless searches, the affidavit states. An investigator searched Murawski’s registered cellphone and allegedly found active and inactive social media accounts logged into the device.
Investigators also found three email accounts that had not been registered, according to the affidavit.
Murawski was arrested on suspicion of failure to comply with sex offender registration and reporting requirements, a Class C felony.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office currently lists Murawski as a Level 3 registered sex offender. The probable cause affidavit, however, states that he had not yet been assessed for an Arkansas community notification level.
According to the sheriff’s office, Murawski was convicted in Michigan of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for an offense that occurred when he was 14 and involved sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl. He was also convicted as an adult of aggravated indecent exposure in Michigan in 2025.
Judge Curtis Hitt set Murawski’s bond at $30,000 cash or surety and ordered him to wear an ankle monitor if released.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
