JONESBORO, Ark. – A special D.A.R.E. event (see here on Facebook) is happening this weekend in Jonesboro and promises to be a colorful experience!
The 2nd Annual 2-Mile Color Run will be held Saturday, April 21, at Joe Mack Campbell Park. This 2 mile run will have 6 color stations and participants are encouraged to come dressed to impress. Tutus are encouraged.
Expect the ground and the air to be filled with bright colors throughout the event. This is an untimed event so participants may feel free to run, walk or skip their way from color to color.
The run will be followed by food, drinks and music at the finish line.
All proceeds will benefit the Jonesboro D.A.R.E. program and the students they serve.
Registration for the color run is open until Friday. Adult registration is $25 and kids 12 and under $15. There is a $60 max for a family of up to 5 people. You’ll want to wear a plain white shirt to the event to soak in all the color!
More Fun Included
The event will also have a backdrop set up for you to take your groupies and selfies. Daren the Lion may be in attendance and available to photobomb your pictures.
Plus, the Jonesboro FOP will debut their new Educational BB Gun Shoothouse after the Color Me D.A.R.E. run this Saturday. It will be set up from 10am until they run out of targets. Parents must sign a consent/waiver that will be on scene at the event before police can allow your child inside.
