Jonesboro Woman Accused of Stabbing Husband; Bond Set at $10,000

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro woman is accused of stabbing her husband and leaving a knife lodged in his side, requiring him to undergo surgery.

Tamera Mae Lemley, 45, faces a charge of first-degree domestic battery resulting in serious physical injury.

Jonesboro police responded July 16 to a reported stabbing at a home on Curtview Drive. The caller told police a man had been stabbed by his wife and was lying on the ground with a knife in his left side, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Lemley was no longer at the home when officers arrived. The man was transported to a hospital with the knife still lodged in his side and was taken into surgery.

A detective spoke with the man before the operation. The man identified Lemley, his wife, as the person who stabbed him, the affidavit states.

Investigators obtained a warrant for Lemley’s arrest after finding her information in a report from a previous domestic-related call involving the couple.

A fugitive task force located Lemley in Harrisburg on July 20 and took her into custody.

During Lemley’s bond hearing, the prosecutor said he initially planned to request a $50,000 bond. However, he said the detective called and asked him to request a $10,000 cash-or-surety bond instead.

The judge, who noted that the knife remained in the man’s side while he was taken to the hospital, granted the $10,000 bond request.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
