COTTER, Ark. — A Cotter resident won a $270,000 lottery jackpot just days before his birthday — three years after winning another large prize around the same time of year.
Glenn Z., whose full name was not released by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, won the Natural State Jackpot drawing held July 15. The winning numbers were 8, 12, 15, 16 and 18.
He discovered his win the following morning and claimed the prize July 16 at the lottery’s claim center.
Glenn, described by lottery officials as an avid player, first shared the news with his best friend.
“I think she was more excited than I was,” he said.
The timing of the win was particularly notable. Three years ago, Glenn won $50,000 playing another lottery game just days before his birthday.
He told lottery officials he plans to use his latest winnings to purchase a new truck.
Natural State Jackpot is a draw game played exclusively in Arkansas.
