AState Students Elect Members of 2017 Homecoming Court

JONESBORO – Students at Arkansas State University elected 10 of their classmates for the 2017 Homecoming Court.  Members of the court were introduced today at the Homecoming Week “banner drop” at the Heritage Plaza lawn.

Voting for queen and king is Thursday, Oct. 12, with selections to be announced during the pre-game Homecoming Court introduction Saturday, prior to the 6 p.m. football game at Centennial Bank Stadium.

Members of the Homecoming Court who are finalists for queen, with hometown, classification, major, sponsor and parents are:

•             Sydney Hickerson of North Little Rock, senior multimedia journalism major, sponsored by the A-State Diamond Dolls.  Parents are Sandie Wells and Joe Wells.

•             Jenny Keller of Sikeston, Mo., junior strategic communication major, sponsored by Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.  Parents are Mary Below of Cape Girardeau, and Robert Keller of Sikeston.

•             Jasmine Okafor of Jackson, Mo., senior biology pre-med major, sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.  Parents are Chika Okafor and Paulinus Okafor of Lee’s Summit, Mo.

•             Claudia Raffo of Jonesboro, senior chemistry pre-pharmacy major, sponsored by Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.  Parents are Paula Raffo and Tommy Raffo.

•             Haley Stotts of Little Rock, senior creative media production major, sponsored by Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.  Parents are Karen Stotts and Jeff Stotts.

Members of the Court who are candidates for king are:

•             Christian Canizales of Jonesboro, junior Spanish major, sponsored by Delta Zeta Sorority.  Parents are Lea Saldana and Tereso Canizales.

•             Xavier Flowers of Helena, senior interdisciplinary studies major, sponsored by the Black Student Association.  His mother is Donna Edmond.

•             Jon Mark Horton of Luxora, junior exercise science major, sponsored by Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.  Parents are Debra Horton and Mark Horton of Jonesboro.

•             Joseph Inman of Jonesboro, senior biology pre-professional major, sponsored by Chi Omega Sorority.  Parents are Tammy Inman of Highland, and David Inman and Terri Inman of Jonesboro.

•             Robert Morris of Jacksonville, senior strategic communications major, sponsored by Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.  Parents are Rebecca Morris and Earl Morris III.
