JONESBORO, Ark. – A man was taken to the hospital after a chase of some kind early Saturday in Jonesboro, a witness reported.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday morning, NEA Reportreader Cricket Ellis contacted us with the information, saying the chase concluded at the Home Sweet Home apartments on Gee Street in Jonesboro. The witness stated the man was tased but a police officer told NEA Report this was not correct. The officer told us it was all “hands-on.”
At least one of the officers seemed to believe the man was under the influence of some type of narcotic. The suspect was seen in one video by another witness fighting the officer. The man is constantly shouting, moving, and squirming.
Once the officer takes full-mount on top of the suspect and gains wrist control, other officers arrive to secure the writhing suspect. A second video by the same witness was also uploaded with the caption stating the suspect swallowed evidence.
In several videos provided to NEA Report, an ambulance is seen responding to the scene. An officer can be heard requesting the “board” to transport the immobile suspect to a nearby hospital. The extent of his injuries or condition is not known to us.
Official details from police are not yet known and would not be expected until Monday.
