JONESBORO, Ark. – A break-in and theft on County Road 382 is being investigated by Craighead County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched Tuesday in reference to a theft which had already occurred. They made contact with a woman who said on Nov. 17, she noticed a man and woman walking up to her son’s house. She yelled at them asking what they needed. They turned around and left, claiming they were just checking on her truck which was broke down up the road.
But a few days later, the woman found her son’s house broken into. A lock was “jimmy’d” with no success but then an unlocked window in the back was used by the crooks. All of the son’s guns were stolen, including a lever action .22, a Mossberg double-barrel shotgun, a crossbow and more. Some tools were also stolen.
The suspects face felony charges for the action if caught.
