JONESBORO, ARK. – The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is poised to welcome its first class of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students at Arkansas State University this fall. Ahead of the start of classes, a white coat ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Fowler Center.
“The white coat ceremony marks the entry of our students into the veterinary profession, a rite of passage in which they pledge to serve animal health and adhere to ethical standards,” said Dr. Heidi Banse, dean of the CVM. “This event signifies the expected professional responsibilities of our students as they enter the DVM program. As part of this ceremony, students will be ‘coated’ by a veterinarian.”
