JONESBORO, Ark. — A Craighead County jury convicted Karen Ann Primm of felony fourth-offense DWI and sentenced her to six years in state prison, according to a sentencing order filed Sept. 2.
The jury also imposed a $5,000 fine. Circuit Judge Randy Philhours entered the judgment, credited Primm with 15 days already served and ordered her transported to the Arkansas Division of Correction.
The order shows Primm was found guilty during a jury trial and that the jury determined her sentence. A separate careless and prohibited driving charge was nolle prossed.
The case began Nov. 16, 2025, when Jonesboro police responded to multiple reports of a hazardous driver. Officers located Primm’s vehicle near Main and Oak streets.
Police reported seeing the vehicle leave the roadway and travel onto a sidewalk before returning to the street. Officers also alleged Primm ran red lights at Main and Matthews and at Main and Washington.
During the traffic stop, officers reported finding an orange pill bottle without a lid in Primm’s lap. Police said her speech was slurred, her responses were delayed and she was unable to complete field sobriety tests.
Court records showed Primm had previous DWI convictions from 2018, 2019 and 2023, making the latest offense a felony.
Following her arrest, District Judge Tommy Fowler set her bond at $25,000 cash only. Craighead County jail records showed she was released later that same day.
The sentencing order lists Marty Lilly as Primm’s defense attorney and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Gina Knight-Nelson for the state. It also states Primm was advised of her appellate rights.
