Paragould Man Charged With Rape, Sexual Assault of Young Child; Bail Set at $1 Million

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A Paragould man is facing multiple felony charges after a 3-year-old child disclosed being sexually abused, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Paragould Police Department.

On July 1, 2025, authorities received a report from the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline regarding allegations made by the child. That same day, the child was interviewed by an Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division (CACD) investigator. During the interview, the child described conduct that met the statutory definitions of rape and sexual assault, identifying their guardian, Jaxon R.K. Anderson, as the alleged offender.

Investigators also interviewed multiple individuals who said the child disclosed the abuse to them that same day.

On July 9, Anderson was interviewed by law enforcement. According to the affidavit, Anderson made incriminating statements during a Miranda-warned interview.

Anderson is charged with two counts of rape, a Class Y felony punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in prison, and two counts of second-degree sexual assault, a Class B felony.

Judge Dan Stidham set bail at $1 million cash or surety and ordered Anderson to wear an ankle monitor if released. A no-contact order with the victim is also in place.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
