PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man is facing felony charges after allegedly abusing a 3-year-old child with autism, according to police.
On May 5, officers took a walk-in report regarding possible abuse, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit. The reporting party stated that Christopher Carrier, 24, had spanked the child and then grabbed him by the neck while babysitting.
Officers observed an injury to the child’s neck consistent with the allegations. During the investigation, authorities learned Carrier had previously been investigated for abuse involving the same child.
Carrier has been charged with domestic battering in the second degree, a Class C felony, and aggravated assault on a family or household member, a Class D felony.
Details regarding bail were not immediately available.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
