Bond Set After State Police Arrest Jonesboro Man on Indecency Charges

JONESBORO, Ark. — Arkansas State Police announced the arrest of a Jonesboro man on charges related to indecency with a child in a press release on Friday.

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested Jeffery Scott Ladyman, 42, of Jonesboro, on felony charges of sexual indecency with a child. Additional charges revealed in court include criminal video voyeurism and distributing, possessing, or viewing explicit conduct. All three charges are class D felonies.

An investigation was prompted by a November 2024 tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The probable cause affidavit states that the cybertip alleged a nude video was taken of an 11-year-old victim from a hidden camera that was set up in the juvenile victim’s bedroom at their residence in Jonesboro.

According to the affidavit, Jeffrey’s spouse stated she confronted her husband about the videos and he did not deny anything, admitting he thought he deleted the videos.

When the victim was interviewed on February, 2025, she recalled an incident where she came out of the bathroom wearing a towel and noticed a phone propped up, recording her.

“The female juvenile victim also indicated that [the defendant] had sometimes rubbed her private area,” the affidavit alleged.

Ladyman turned himself into ASP Troop C Headquarters in Jonesboro on Thursday, May 1, 2025, around 2:30 p.m. ASP

Agents transported him to the Craighead County Detention Center.

Ladyman appeared before Judge Tommy Fowler on Friday afternoon, May 2, for his bail hearing. His father, State Representative Jack Ladyman, was in attendance in court. When the judge asked if he had a message for his son, he had none.

He gave the following quote to the Arkansas Times:

“Him and his wife have been separated for a year and they’re going through a nasty divorce and that’s what this is all about and the lawyers will work that out,” Jack Ladyman said.

Representing the state, DPA Bryce Cook announced an agreement was reached between Ladyman’s lawyer, Mark Rees, and Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jessica Thomason to set bail at $35,000 cash or surety, with conditions including a no-contact order involving ANY minor and prohibition of internet access, in any form.

The judge, noting that Ladyman’s attorney wasn’t present in the courtroom, accepted the conditions for bail.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Certain details have been omitted to protect the alleged victim.
