Accident in Paragould Claims Pedestrian’s Life

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A pedestrian died Saturday after being struck by a pickup in Paragould, police said.

At about 12:24 p.m., emergency services responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle-pedestrian crash, according to Captain Jason Elms with the Paragould Police Department. Paragould police, EMS, and fire personnel arrived at the scene.

Investigators said a silver Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound in the inside lane before moving left into a turn lane. As the driver prepared to turn, a man ran north from the south side of the road, crossing through traffic and into the truck’s path. The pickup struck the pedestrian.

The man died from his injuries at about 10:30 p.m., police said.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending family notification. The crash remains under investigation.
