PORTIA, Ark. – Some customers of empower, Delivered by Craighead Electric faced an interruption of their internet service in Lawrence County on Wednesday.
The company reported a crew was working on an internet outage near Lawrence Road 514 over Running Water Creek. Crews found internet cables damaged by gunfire. Several shotgun shells were pictured in photos taken by the repair crews.
According to empower, a section of the network had to be taken completely offline, impacting customers throughout Portia. The work was expected to last from about 2:30 PM to around 7 PM.
