Piggott Man Faces Burglary, Theft Charges in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. – Authorities in Paragould believe they stopped a burglary in progress and are charging the suspect with multiple felonies.

The probable cause affidavit states that on April 5, 2024, a person reported that a residence on North 7th Street was actively being burglarized. The report provided Paragould Emergency Services with a description of the suspects, the suspect vehicle, and the property that was being taken.

About three minutes later, officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation, the affidavit says. In plain view, officers observed some of the property mentioned in the 911 call as well as tools commonly used in burglaries.

Authorities made contact with the driver and the potential defendant, Eric L. Neeley. The affidavit says Neeley provided multiple stories about the property.

Police contacted the homeowner, who said no one was supposed to be in the residence and no one had permission to remove property from the residence.

The PC affidavit says Neeley has multiple prior convictions for breaking and entering and theft within the past two years.

Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause to hold Neeley in connection with the case. His bond was set at $25,000.
