Jonesboro Man Arrested on Felony Charges Following Alleged Domestic Violence Incident

JONESBORO, Ark. – A man faces felony charges after a report said he choked and struck a woman while armed with a gun this week in Jonesboro.

Officer Logan Mason was dispatched at about 10:30 PM on February 27 to the 600-block of Krewson Street in reference to a subject with a weapon. The report details an incident of alleged domestic violence involving a 30-year-old female victim. The MO specifically states choking and striking occurred. The report also lists a 10-year old boy as a witness to the incident.

Police made contact with Eric M. Reed, 34, of Jonesboro, at the address, which was his and the victim’s residence. Although investigative portions of the report are masked, it states that he had an apologetic demeanor when speaking to police.

Authorities recovered a silver slide black frame Smith & Wesson handgun.

Reed was arrested for felony aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by certain persons. He remains in Craighead County Detention Center as of this publication on a $75,000 bond.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

The victim sustained minor injuries, the report says.
