Two Arrested for Firing Gunshots in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – Two suspects were arrested for firing gunshots off this week in Jonesboro, with one of the suspects being 13-years old.

It happened around 10:40 PM on February 26 near the intersection of Cherry Hill and N. Culberhouse. Officer Jacob Lowry responded to a report of shots heard in the area.

The officer arrived to find two suspects in possession of multiple firearms. The report said they were discharging the guns within the city limits, although there’s no explanation why. There did not appear to be a target of the gunfire, based on visible portions of the report.

Police found a .380 and two 9mm handguns. They also found a bag filled with bullets. Six spent 9mm shell casings were recovered from the scene.

Daylen Dewayne Robinson, 19, of Jonesboro, was arrested on charges of discharging a firearm within the city limits (a city ordinance), contributing to the delinquency of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor, misdemeanors.

A 13-year-old male was also arrested, facing a charge of handgun possession by a minor. He was remanded to juvenile authorities.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
