Man Arrested for Crack, Other Drugs After Traffic Stop for No Insurance

JONESBORO, Ark. – A traffic stop initiated due to unconfirmed insurance led to the arrest of an individual who, according to police, was driving with a suspended license while also being in possession of controlled substances.

Officer Kara Austin, on patrol at approximately 10:30 AM on November 7, noticed a white Dodge Durango lacking confirmed insurance, as stated in the police report. The traffic stop took place at the 200-block of E. Johnson Avenue.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Furthermore, the officer’s inquiry uncovered that the driver was in possession of 3.8 grams of crack cocaine, 3 Alprazolam tablets, and approximately 10 grams of marijuana.

Keenan R. Jones, a 35-year-old resident of Jonesboro, was arrested on multiple charges. These include possession of meth or cocaine greater than 2 grams, classified as a felony, along with misdemeanors related to the possession of other controlled substances, driving with a canceled or suspended license, and no proof of insurance.

In an unrelated incident, a man was pulled over and arrested with suspected fentanyl after police observed him with no seat belt and illegal window tint earlier this week in Jonesboro.

It happened between 6:45 PM and 7:45 PM on November 7 near Red Wolf Boulevard and Sun Avenue. Police found a white powder suspected to be fentanyl along with a syringe and scales, both of which had drug residue present. Jeffery Heath Miller, 52, of Jonesboro, was arrested for possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
