JONESBORO, Ark. — An 18-year-old was arrested after police said he strangled a victim and threatened to kill her during a domestic disturbance in Jonesboro.
Braylen Ka’won Holland, 18, was arrested for aggravated assault on a family or household member and first-degree terroristic threatening. Both charges are Class D felonies.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers were dispatched May 30 to the 2400 block of High Street for a domestic disturbance that had already occurred.
When officers arrived, the victim said Holland placed her on the ground beside a bed after she attempted to leave. She told police she could not move while Holland was on top of her.
The victim said Holland then began strangling her to the point that she could not breathe. She told police she believed she was going to pass out and told Holland to stop.
According to the affidavit, Holland also made statements while strangling her, including a threat to get something and kill her.
Holland’s next court date is June 30. District Judge Tommy Fowler set bail at $35,000 cash or surety and issued a no-contact order.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
