The Bark Park Wins City Naming Contest for New Dog Area

JONESBORO, Ark. – Jonesboro residents were tasked with the important responsibility of naming the city’s newest dog park and on Monday, it was announced The Bark Park had won the vote.

The city recently announced the new dog park located near Jonesboro High School, close to Highland Drive and Culberhouse Road. To engage the community, the city decided to involve residents in the naming process. After receiving hundreds of suggestions, the city narrowed it down to ten finalists:

🐾 Central Bark
🐾 Craighead Bark
🐾 Friendly Paws Park
🐾 Highland Hounds
🐾 Howl-Land Dog Park
🐾 Hurricane Hounds Park
🐾 Red- Woof Park
🐾 The Bark Park
🐾 The Howling Grounds
🐾 Waggin’ Wonderland

 

On Monday, October 16, the city announced that The Bark Park won the vote with 297 votes out of 1,061 cast.
