JONESBORO, Ark. – Police have a suspect in custody as they continue investigating a shooting that took place Sunday evening in the 3000 block of Griffin Street in Jonesboro.

At approximately 7 p.m., Jonesboro police officers received a report of a possible shooting incident. A short time later, a male arrived at a nearby hospital suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound, a release posted to social media by the department said.

K8 News reports that on Tuesday, probable cause was found to charge Dillion Norris, a 17-year-old, with first degree battery, aggravated robbery, possession of a schedule VI substance and drug paraphernalia. He is accused of shooting Laloyd Hamilton, 29, of Forrest City. Second Judicial Circuit Court Judge Scott Ellington said Norris will be tried as an adult.

The decision is likely due to Norris already being out on bond for another shooting. Authorities had an ankle monitor on Norris for that incident and used it to track him down in this instance.

He will have a much more difficult time making bond this time. Ellington set requirement for his release at a $10 million cash/surety bond.
