JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man faces four felony charges after drug task force agents said a $20 marijuana purchase helped lead them to an apartment where they seized 2.1 pounds of marijuana, two loaded firearms, scales and packaging materials.
Kentavious Robinson is charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony; use of a communication device, a Class C felony; possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with purpose to deliver, a Class D felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, agents with the Second Judicial Drug Task Force were watching an apartment on South Caraway Road on July 16 after receiving information about possible narcotics activity.
An agent reported seeing a man conduct a hand-to-hand transaction with the driver of a vehicle in the parking lot. Agents stopped the driver and recovered marijuana, the affidavit states.
A probation search of the driver’s phone allegedly showed that the driver placed an order with one person, paid Robinson $20 through Cash App and received the marijuana from another person.
While agents prepared a search warrant, a man reportedly fled from the apartment complex in a Kia Optima and threw 3.5 grams of marijuana from the vehicle. Agents arrested him nearby, according to the affidavit.
During the subsequent apartment search, agents reported finding 955 grams — about 2.1 pounds — of marijuana inside a backpack in the kitchen. They also seized a loaded Glock pistol, a digital scale with marijuana residue and clear plastic baggies commonly used to package marijuana for sale.
A search of a bedroom allegedly uncovered another digital scale with marijuana residue, a loaded Anderson Arms AR-15 pistol and an additional loaded magazine.
Investigators linked Robinson to the apartment through the lease and utility accounts, which the affidavit states were in his name.
Officer H. Gonzalez stopped Robinson on Tuesday, Aug. 18, and arrested him on an outstanding warrant without incident.
Robinson’s bond was set at $35,000 cash or surety. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
