CLAY COUNTY, Ark. – Two people were arrested in a narcotics investigation following a request for a welfare check on a child, a release from the sheriff said Wednesday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department received a request for a welfare check on an 18-month-old child in St. Francis on July 1 at approximately 8:04 pm. The check was prompted by suspicions of narcotics sales at the residence. The child’s mother, accompanied by a deputy, went to the home located at 502 South Rice St in St. Francis. Anthony Page, the child’s father, has a search waiver with Probation Parole, the release said. Authorities say a search of the residence conducted by the Sheriff’s Department revealed multiple illegal items. Kristie S. Page, 29 years old, was taken into custody at that time.
On July 3, 2023, an arrest warrant was issued by a judge for 40-year-old Anthony Page. He was apprehended by the Sheriff’s Department on the same day around 6:25 pm as a passenger in a vehicle entering St. Francis. Anthony Page now faces charges of Possession of Meth or Cocaine with intent to deliver and Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Further updates on the case are anticipated as the investigation continues.
