Illegal dumping with pay stubs and prescriptions; other Craighead County reports

JONESBORO, Ark. – Here are the latest crime reports made to Craighead County Sheriff’s Office as of August 19, 2019. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

A report was filed Saturday evening at the 7300-block of Highway 135 North in Lake City in reference to a stolen black 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. The vehicle was stolen sometime between 7 PM Friday night and 4 PM Saturday afternoon.


A report was filed Saturday evening at the 2100-block of County Road 403 where a resident said he has noticed a truck making ruts in a nearby church parking lot. He said he was concerned about the truck possibly breaking windows by doing this. Extra patrols will be in the area in the coming weeks.


Just before 10 PM Sunday morning in Brookland, a report was made indicating that a 75-year-old woman’s dog was killed by a pack of dogs owned by a nearby resident, 41, male. Both resided near the 2500-block of County Road 761. No arrests were made and parties were advised of their rights.


A report was filed late Sunday on County Road 607 near Highway 158 in Bay indicating someone had dumped a television and full trash bags on a field road belonging to a farmer. The pile of trash contained several pill bottles, all belonging to “Jesse Randel.” Also, several pay stubs from Sonic Drive Inn were found. The name on those was “Sara Colburn.” The report is being completed and may result in an illegal dumping charge, a misdemeanor.
