Several Craighead County thefts involve vehicles

Three separate cases of theft reported to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office on Monday all involved theft of items belonging on the roadway.

The first reported theft was of a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the 1400-block of Craighead County Road 712. The theft was believed to have happened between July 15 and July 18, when it was reported.

A second reported theft happened at the 5100-block of Highway 1 South. A man parked his 2017 Chevy truck to sell and on Friday, sold the vehicle – but the license plate had been removed. The theft was thought to have happened between July 13 and July 15. The plate was a United Turkey Federation license tag.

A third reported theft, this time felony level, happened sometime Friday afternoon at the 250-block of Craighead County Road 396. A 2021 neon green 24″ Lock N’ Load flat bed trailer was stolen from a residence. Around 1 PM, a witness noticed a silver SUV with loud exhaust in front of the residence. The vehicle appeared to be having motor issues and he ignored it but at about 2 PM, it came back and hooked up to the trailer.
