A residential burglary was reported on July 2 in Craighead County that included several firearms being stolen.
The Craighead County Sheriff’s Department took the report Saturday evening at the 7400-block of Arkansas Highway 141. A resident told the responding deputy that he left his home at about 11:15 AM Saturday. After a day of playing golf, the man returned home around 4:15 PM.
The report says he noticed several items had been moved and left laying in the floor. He also found several items stolen, including a black composite Remington 870 with scope and sling and a wood grain Ruger 1022 with scope. A case of ammunition, Remington 12 gauge shells, were also stolen.
The resident checked with neighbors to see if they had seen anyone approaching the house. None had.
