JONESBORO, Ark. – A man was arrested for allegedly finding items in a Jonesboro Walmart matching a receipt he had and attempting to return them to customer service.
At 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Officer Jordan Fowler with JPD was dispatched to Walmart on Highland Drive where a shoplifting incident had been reported. Walmart employees already had the suspect in the back office – Donald Dustin Whaley, 40, of Jonesboro. The suspect was said to have used receipts to find items in the store before returning them for cash at the customer service desk.

The store’s loss prevention employee stopped him at the door and took him to the back when he tried to leave.
Police found he had warrants out of the City of Jonesboro after being run through ACIC. He was arrested for shoplifting and failure to appear and transported to Craighead County Detention Center.
