Patrick Street widening under way

JONESBORO, Ark. – The City of Jonesboro is widening two blocks of Patrick Street between Washington Avenue and Creath Street.

With the addition of sidewalks, the project will increase safety for both vehicles and pedestrians. Originally budgeted for $250,000, the work will be completed for approximately $180,000, City Engineer Craig Light said.

According to the contract, work should be completed by June 26, 2017, weather permitting.

“These are quality of life projects – and we have pockets all around the city that have needs,” Mayor Harold Perrin said. “I am proud that this one has been addressed and that our Streets Department and engineers, along with Gillis Incorporated, appears capable of doing this work well under bid.”
