Driver airlifted after late Tuesday wreck

JONESBORO, Ark. – A late Tuesday wreck resulted in the driver being airlifted to Memphis with injuries.

It happened around 9:36 p.m. Tuesday night, May 9, at North Patrick Street and East Thomas Green Road. The Jonesboro Police Department media release says a 2013 Buick Verano, drive n by Shaun Mask, 22, of Jonesboro, was traveling north on Patrick. As the vehicle approached the intersection, the report says the driver disregarded the stop sign, struck a street sign and traveled approximately 335 feet before coming to a rest.

The vehicle was on its side when emergency responders arrived. It is unknown how many times it flipped before coming to a rest, the report said.

Mask was alert and speaking with emergency responders just after the accident. After Medic One checked on him, the decision was made to fly him to Regional One Health in Memphis by Hospital Wing. His family has been made aware of the situation.

No one else was involved in the accident. His condition is unknown to this outlet as of this publication.
