WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Thursday, February 2nd, the Walnut Ridge Planning Commission will have their regularly scheduled meeting at the Fire Department on Hwy 67B north in Walnut Ridge, Mayor Charles Snapp notified media of on Monday.
James Walden, with Garner USA, will attend the meeting and provide some basic insight and a brief overview of the responsibilities of the Planning Commission for the new members and general public, Snapp said in the email.
Walnut Ridge Alderman Larry Abbott has agreed to serve as a non-voting liaison between the Commission and the Council.
Items on the agenda for the Planning Commission start with a request for rezoning of the lots on SW 7th Street, from an R-2 to a C-2. The front portion of the property at the corner of West Main Street and SW 7th Street is already zoned commercial.
There’s also a request to change the direction two lots face in the 400 block of NW Front.
Snapp noted during a Council work session, the City Council will not have a meeting called to order and no motions will be accepted from Aldermen.
