JONESBORO, Ark. – A Jonesboro Police Department parking enforcement officer was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon in Jonesboro.

At 3:35 p.m. at Washington Avenue and Union Street, Kimberly Lochner, 42, was struck when a 2015 Toyota 4Runner turned eastbound onto Washington from Union. As Lochner was walking northbound across Washington, she was struck by the vehicle.

Lochner was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital. However, she was reportedly conscious and communicating at the scene.

The 4Runner was driven by a 19-year-old Walnut Ridge girl.

Lochner is a parking attendant with the JPD parking enforcement division, which has recently begun to ramp up activities in the downtown area – a destination often plagued by vehicles parked outside of the line. With several streets being one way, bad parking jobs can create tight fits for travelers navigating through Downtown Jonesboro.

A source indicated Lochner was expected to be okay as of Wednesday morning.
