JONESBORO, Ark. — A suspect faces a class Y felony charge after a fatal overdose in Jonesboro.
Frank D. Flanagan faces a first-degree death-by-delivery charge after a person died following an overdose call in Jonesboro, according to Craighead County court records.
Officers arrived to find firefighters performing lifesaving measures on the person, a probable cause affidavit states. Investigators reported seeing what appeared to be drugs and drug paraphernalia in the room. The person was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
The affidavit says a witness told investigators Flanagan supplied the person with drugs. During an interview with Jonesboro police, Flanagan said he had received $250 from the person to buy drugs and later gave them what he believed was methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.
A witness also alleged that Flanagan supplied methamphetamine and fentanyl that the witness and the person who died used that night. The records provided do not include toxicology findings or identify which substance caused the death.
The probable cause affidavit lists the charge as a Class Y felony. Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause and set bond at $250,000. Flanagan’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 23.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
