PARAGOULD, Ark. — A suspect was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant after authorities said he struck a victim during a domestic dispute and left the scene in the victim’s vehicle without permission.
Michael Danyincent Sorg was arrested on suspicion of third-degree domestic battering and unauthorized use of a vehicle, both misdemeanors.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Officer Dylan Work responded May 30, 2026, to East Kingshighway in reference to an unauthorized use of a vehicle. When Work arrived, he made contact with the alleged victim, who was physically upset and bleeding from a cut above her left eye.
The victim told police she and Sorg had gone to the river and argued on the way home. She said both had been drinking that day before Sorg began drinking more alcohol and became increasingly violent, according to the affidavit.
The victim said the argument continued as she drove into Paragould, at which point Sorg reached over and struck her in the face, the affidavit states.
Police said the victim pulled over at a convenience store to let Sorg out. Sorg walked to the store but returned to the vehicle and struck her in the injury above her eye, according to the affidavit.
The victim said Sorg then got out of the vehicle, left the scene in her vehicle without permission and was later stopped by Jonesboro police as he attempted to return to her residence.
The victim was transported to the hospital for her injuries.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
