PARAGOULD, Ark. — A registered sex offender was arrested after police said he failed to report an address change after living in Paragould for about a month.
Jared Morgan, 34, of Paragould, was arrested on suspicion of failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements, a Class C felony, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Paragould Police Department.
According to the affidavit, Morgan was registered as a sex offender in Lake City and was required by Arkansas law to report any address change to law enforcement.
On May 8, 2026, Paragould officers contacted Morgan and discovered he had been living in Paragould for a month without reporting an address change, the affidavit said.
Police said Morgan was taken to the police department for questioning. During a Mirandized interview, he admitted he failed to comply with registration requirements and said he was registered in Lake City but had been living in Paragould for a month, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit also said Morgan admitted this was his fourth time violating registration requirements.
Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety with an ankle monitor required.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
