PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Marmaduke suspect was arrested after a traffic stop in Paragould this week led officers to alleged methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to a probable cause affidavit.
On April 21, 2026, Officer Brandy Williams stopped a vehicle after its registration showed unconfirmed insurance, and because a passenger-side taillight was defective, the affidavit states.
Police identified the driver as Jagen Ashten Roe, 25, of Marmaduke. According to the affidavit, Williams observed that Roe had slurred speech, glassy eyes and pupils that appeared dilated in the sunlight. When asked whether he had been drinking, Roe reportedly said he had not.
The affidavit states that assisting officer Keristen Jackson also observed an open container in the passenger floorboard.
During the stop, Williams asked Roe to step out of the vehicle, according to the affidavit. When Williams attempted to perform a Terry frisk for weapons, Roe allegedly became noncompliant and resisted officers before being taken to the ground.
The affidavit states several items then fell from Roe’s pocket, including a glass jar containing 6.6 grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe wrapped in a white napkin.
Roe was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony; no insurance; and resisting arrest.
Judge Curtis Hitt set Roe’s bail at $25,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
