Two Arrested After Reported Stabbing During Monette Domestic Altercation

MONETTE, Ark. — Two suspects were arrested after officers responded to a reported stabbing at a residence on Honis in Monette.

Mary Lynn Petty, 38, was arrested on a charge of second-degree domestic battery, a Class C felony. Kevin Dewayne Guiltner, 47, was also arrested on a charge of third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers were called at about 5:45 p.m. on March 22, 2026, to a residence on Honis in reference to a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they made contact with Guiltner, who had a slash on his left upper arm. He told officers he had been stabbed by Petty.

The affidavit states Petty was no longer at the residence when officers arrived. Officers later located her at another home on Scott Avenue in Monette.

Petty told officers she and Guiltner were in a bedroom when they began fighting. According to the affidavit, Petty said Guiltner grabbed her, threw her against a wall, and started hitting her on the ground. Petty told officers she then grabbed a knife and cut Guiltner on the arm before running out of the house.

Both Petty and Guiltner refused medical treatment, according to the affidavit.

Petty was jailed on the felony domestic battery charge. Guiltner was also arrested on the misdemeanor domestic battery charge, though no probable cause affidavit was provided for that count.

Bail for both suspects was set at $5,000 cash or surety.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
