PARAGOULD, Ark. — A felony charge has been dropped against a former Greene County detention officer accused earlier this year of furnishing prohibited articles at the county jail.
Court records now show the charge against Alicia Albrecht, 40, of Paragould, has been dismissed.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the case involved milk being brought into the jail.
Albrecht had been arrested March 9 after the Greene County Sheriff’s Office said detectives received information that a detention officer had been bringing items into the detention center for a specific inmate.
Investigators reviewed detention center surveillance footage and spent several days combing through hours of video as part of the investigation.
Sheriff Brad Snyder said at the time that detectives were able to corroborate the information provided to them during that review.
During the investigation, detectives also located at least one instance in which the inmate involved, identified as a trustee, brought an item to the detention officer, who then allegedly took the item home at the end of the shift.
On March 6, District Judge Curtis Hitt signed a probable cause affidavit for Albrecht’s arrest on a charge of furnishing prohibited articles, a Class C felony.
Authorities said at the time that Albrecht had been relieved of her duties as a detention officer.
The case has since been dismissed, according to court records.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
