CARAWAY, Ark. — A suspect was arrested Sunday, March 1, 2026, after a reported domestic disturbance in Caraway that allegedly resulted in a pregnant victim being pushed to the ground during an argument.
According to a probable cause affidavit from the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 4 a.m. to a residence in Caraway in reference to a domestic disturbance.
The alleged victim told deputies she and her husband had been arguing when the suspect told her to “get her ass inside the house.” During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly pushed her, causing her to fall into the steps of the residence. The victim told deputies that when she stood up and attempted to defend herself verbally, the suspect pushed her a second time, again knocking her down.
The victim further stated that the suspect remained seated near the door and later fell asleep, which allowed her to leave the home and go to a family member’s residence, where law enforcement was contacted.
According to the affidavit, the victim later complained of stomach pain following the incident and reported she had not felt the baby move since the altercation. She requested medical attention and was transported by ambulance to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
After the victim was transported to the hospital, deputies and a Caraway police officer went to a residence on Highway 135 South to make contact with the suspect. Upon arrival, the suspect was observed standing on a back porch smoking a cigarette. Officers advised the suspect that he was under arrest for third-degree domestic battery. He was taken into custody and transported to the Craighead County Detention Center without further incident.
Daniel Weaver, 37, is being held on a Class D felony charge of third-degree battery. Bail was set at $30,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
