Out-of-Town Suspect Arrested After Alleged $484 Walmart Shoplifting; Bail Set at $10K Cash Only

JONESBORO, Ark. — A suspect was arrested Sunday after officers responded to a reported shoplifting incident at Walmart on East Highland Drive, according to a Jonesboro Police Department probable cause affidavit.

Police were dispatched on March 1, 2026, to 2811 Creek Drive in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Dispatch advised that an Arkansas State Trooper had stopped the suspect vehicle outside city limits.

According to the affidavit, Asset Protection employees observed two individuals, identified as Victoria Alyce Robinson, 28, of Memphis, and Jade Danielle Carey, placing items throughout the store before selecting a cart of bagged items. The pair exited the front doors without making payment.

Robinson allegedly remained behind and attempted to pay for the items after several attempts with her card were declined. The affidavit states a Walmart employee attempted to assist her, at which point Robinson called Carey and said she was having problems with payment.

Police allege Robinson then fled the store and entered a silver vehicle where Carey was already inside. The vehicle left the scene with unpaid merchandise.

Asset Protection relayed the vehicle description to the Northeast Arkansas Shoplifting Task Force, which located the suspects outside city limits. The complainant advised officers that troopers seized items from the suspects and returned them to Walmart.

Walmart reported a total loss of $484.98 in stolen merchandise, according to the affidavit. Officers also noted some items did not belong to the pair but appeared new, and those items were logged into evidence for further investigation.

The affidavit states Robinson was previously convicted of theft of property on March 10, 2016, elevating the current shoplifting charge to a felony as a second offense.

Robinson was arrested on a charge of shoplifting, second offense, a felony. During a court appearance, Judge Tommy Fowler noted Robinson had been arrested approximately one week earlier and referenced statements that she admitted to thefts at Target and in Paragould, suggesting additional charges may be forthcoming.

Taking into account the prior arrest and that Robinson is from out of town, Judge Fowler set bail at $10,000 cash only. The defendant cried in court as bail was announced, but the judge maintained the bond.

Carey was cited in the case.

Robinson’s next court date is April 23.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
