JONESBORO, Ark. — A registered sex offender was arrested after authorities determined he failed to comply with reporting requirements, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Terry Linn Johnson, 35, is required to register as a sex offender in the State of Arkansas. According to the affidavit, Johnson was convicted of sexual indecency with a child on May 28, 2019, and was assessed as a Level 2 offender on Oct. 18, 2019.
The affidavit states Johnson registered with authorities on Nov. 4, 2025, listing an address on North Culberhouse Street in Jonesboro and employment at J&B BBQ in Manila.
On Feb. 16, 2026, officers were contacted by Johnson’s roommate, who advised that Johnson had moved from the residence approximately one week earlier and was working at Longhorn Steakhouse in Jonesboro.
Authorities contacted personnel at Longhorn Steakhouse and were advised Johnson was no longer employed there. Officers then contacted the owner of J&B BBQ and were informed Johnson was no longer working at that location.
According to the affidavit, officers later went to Red Lobster in Jonesboro and spoke with a manager, who escorted Johnson outside the building, where he was arrested.
Arkansas law requires registered sex offenders to report any changes in residence, mailing address, temporary domicile, employment, volunteer status, email, social network information, and vehicle information in person to the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction at the time of the change.
Johnson was arrested on a charge of failure to register or comply with reporting requirements, a Class C felony.
Judge Tommy Fowler set bail at $35,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
