Parole Absconder Arrested After Traffic Stop Reveals Loaded Handgun in Vehicle

JONESBORO, Ark. — A parole absconder was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop led officers to discover a loaded handgun inside a vehicle, according to a police report.

On Feb. 24, Jonesboro officers observed a blue Hyundai Elantra fail to signal before turning onto Rogers and initiated a traffic stop, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police said the driver provided identification under the name “Craig Noble,” with a listed birth date of June 23, 1988. Officers checked the information through ACIC and determined it was false.

The driver was then identified as Corbin Dshaun Noble, 39, of Gillett. Police said Noble admitted he knew he had a felony warrant.

Authorities confirmed the warrant through the Arkansas Board of Parole. A parole search of the vehicle was conducted, during which officers located a loaded .25-caliber Silver Jimenez Arms handgun in the glove box.

Police said Noble was the sole occupant of the vehicle. According to the affidavit, Noble is listed as a parole absconder and has a prior felony conviction dated April 3, 2023.

Noble was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons with a prior felony, a Class D felony, and obstructing governmental operations by providing a false name, a misdemeanor.

Judge Tommy Fowler set bail at $35,000 cash or surety, noting Noble is not from the area and has a prior failure to appear on his record.

Noble’s next court date is scheduled for April 23.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
